Laureate head of Janus; ATRATINVS AVGVR below / Prow of galley right; ANTONIVS above, IMP below. Amandry, Bronze I pl. 17; Crawford 530/1 (citing one specimen in Paris); CRI 264; Sydenham 1254; RPC I 2226; Kestner 3818; BMCRR East p. 501. Near VF, green patina. Extremely rare. In 40 BC Lucius Sempronius Atratinus was elected a member of the college of augurs, and in July 39 BC was appointed consul designate at the time of the treaty of Misenum.
